Accounts Assistant

Our parent company Hunt & Palmer is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their small and hardworking accounts department who are responsible for the accounting administration of all companies within the Hunt & Palmer group, of which there are currently seven including overseas subsidiaries.

The Accounts Assistant role is a varied one and the post holder will be expected to perform a plethora of accountancy functions, including purchase and sales ledger processes and journal entries using the Company’s MS NAV accounting system and other software packages, circulating invoices internally for authorisation, bank reconciliations and double entry bookkeeping.

The ideal candidate will have a keen and methodical approach to their work and be able to demonstrate excellent attention to detail. You will also have a good telephone manner and strong organisational skills, along with a flexible ‘can do’ attitude. The role would suit a candidate who is familiar with book keeping processes or who has a basic financial background.

In addition, competence in MS Outlook/Word/Excel is requisite, while a knowledge of multi-currency accounting and MS NAV accounting software would be an advantage, though not a necessity.

Administration and Resources Manager

Full-time role 37.5 hours per week

We are seeking an experienced Administration and Resources Manager to be based at the group’s head office in Crawley, West Sussex.

Reporting directly to the Company Secretary, this is a demanding yet rewarding role, requiring dedication, initiative and drive to provide excellent service to both internal and external stakeholders.

You will supervise a small team of support staff and be responsible for overseeing the general operation of the company’s day to day office administration and HR functions together with corporate support and site/facilities management throughout the Hunt & Palmer organisation in the UK and overseas.

The duties of the position are both extensive and varied, requiring exceptional organisational skills, multi-tasking capability and diligence of the post-holder. Ideally, you will be approachable and personable with an empathetic nature.

In addition, the Administration & Resources Manager must be able to communicate articulately and effectively at all levels within the business and have a ‘can-do’ attitude.

This is primarily an office-based position however there may be a requirement on occasion for you to travel in the UK or overseas and to work irregular hours from time to time. The ability to be flexible with regards to your working hours is therefore required.
